Post 2-Jason Frank

After I read the beginning of the book, I began to think that the book would consist of mainly information (seeing as the second chapter is about the mountains history,) Jon Krakauer seemed like a straightforward journalist, but later on I realized that he was very wise and had a profound personality. He is a natural leader and helped his climbing group as well as he could.

Blog Post #2-Jack Selvig

Rob Hall is a unique character in the book, Into Thin Air.  Hall really seems to grow as a character throughout the book.  He started as a simple guide for Krakauer's climbing team but he begins developing into a very complex and interesting character. Hall can be cool, nice, stern and caring towards people close to him. Along with his gentler side, he can be a rough hard-ass, especially when it comes to the safety of the people on his team and his determination to do everything he can to reach the summit. Halls passion really shows his commitment. Hall's combination of strength, skill, determination and dedication to not only his climbers, but all the climbers around him, if I had to trust anyone with my life, it would have to be hall.
